About Us
  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our pricing system focuses on two things - 1. Giving control back to the consumer. We offer upfront pricing so you can make a decision before any work has been performed. 2. We do free estimates and second opinions. Pricing out a job without seeing it can be risky, but we understand that paying for someone to come out and make an assessment can get expensive. Each estimate is an opportunity to earn your business. Charging a fee just to come out is for companies more interested in the bottom line, than they are building a lasting relationship with you.
  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Hiring a professional through Thumbtack can be challenging. You may not find the exact category you want or quite understand how much of a commitment each button you press is worth. Not to worry! Opening up dialogue with us is the best thing to do. We’ll walk you through the process so you have the knowledge to make a sound decision. If you just have a few questions, that’s cool too.
  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
4 Years CAHPCC 4 Years SLCC OSHA Certified (Trench Safety) Rocky Mountain Gas Association Certified Gas Tite Certified
  • How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started my plumbing journey doing all the water systems for a yacht manufacturer in the south. I found working with water systems came naturally to me and after the recession of 2008 caused company wide downsizing, I decided to move back to Utah and dive into residential plumbing. Best decision I’ve ever made.
  • What types of customers have you worked with?
If your answer isn’t ALL TYPES here, you need to re-evaluate being a business owner.
  • Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Any of the jobs where we’ve been able to help under privileged people have the ability to tackle life altering plumbing issues. The most recent I can remember is helping a customer get a $20,000 grant for a sewer replacement on a house they just moved in to.
  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
A couple things to keep in mind - 1. Do a little research on your project. There is so much information right at your finger tips. Find out what to look for and what questions to ask. 2. Make sure you’re hiring the right type of contractor for the job. Almost half of what we fix is work done by a “handyman” or a “do everything” type. Fields of expertise are just that. Plumbing involves removing any chance of risk for your home. Hiring a non-plumber or non-electrician can raise that risk factor substantially.
  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Plumbing companies all have access to the same materials so the "stuff" you get will be the same no matter who you choose. This makes it important to focus on the experience you are having. Do you feel comfortable? Are you being educated? Do you trust them? This is where we stand out. We have the knowledge and experience to educate you about your project and set you at ease. You'll feel confident in our ability to handle any issue. We'll treat you fairly and shoot you straight. You'll have the best experience with Salt City.
