  • How did you get started doing this type of work?
Our dad Pete was living in Beech Grove while working as a HVAC contractor when he saw how the lack of care and corner cutting in the field were affecting the people in his community. In 1986, Dad set out to start his own company: Peterman Heating & Cooling. Dad took the time to ensure every customer, their home, and the work needed to be done was genuinely cared for and that philosophy grew our service area and customer base. Eventually we joined the company.
  • What types of customers have you worked with?
At Peterman Brothers, we have a diverse range of customers, including: Residential customers: We work with homeowners of all sizes and types of properties, from single-family homes to large estates. No matter the size or type of your property, we have the expertise to handle your HVAC needs.
  • Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Our recent project is our Peterman Cares program. At Peterman Brothers, we believe that every family deserves a safe and comfortable home. This means having properly functioning plumbing, electrical, water heater, and heating and cooling systems. Unfortunately, many homes in our community don’t meet these standards, putting families at risk. We realize that such circumstances sometimes happen when unplanned hardships arise. Because of this, we have decided to take action. Each month, Peterman Brothers will give away one system (including installation) or service to a person or family in need and facing a hardship. This giveaway can be a furnace, air conditioner, water heater, electrical, plumbing, or sewer installation. Our goal is to improve the lives of those in our community by providing essential home services.

Verify licensing: Ensure that the company is licensed to operate in your area. Read reviews: Check online reviews to see what other customers have to say about the company's services. Ask about warranties: Inquire about warranties and guarantees on equipment and labor. Consider experience: Look for a company with experience working on similar projects to yours. • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Here are some questions customers should consider before contacting an HVAC professional: What is the specific issue you're experiencing? Are you having problems with heating, cooling, or both? Is your system not working at all, or is it inefficient? What is the age and condition of your current HVAC system? This information will help the professional assess the best course of action. What is your budget for the project? Knowing your budget will help the professional recommend options that fit within your financial constraints. Do you have any preferences or requirements? Are you interested in energy-efficient systems, smart thermostats, or other specific features? By thinking through these questions beforehand, customers can provide the HVAC professional with valuable information that will help them provide a more accurate and helpful assessment.
