Introduction

Our priority is to provide the highest level of customer service and to meet our customers' plumbing, gas, drain and sewer needs. We know that plumbing emergencies are enough of a headache without dealing with an ornery customer service rep or service professional. We offer a warm voice, a courteous call, and a convenient process. We make your emergency a priority for us, scheduling service as quickly as possible to resolve your problem. Our plumbers are the same way—they treat your home with respect and consideration. We wipe our feet on our own mats, we wear shoe covers before entering your home, and we’ll offer you a fair assessment of your plumbing situation and how much it will cost to handle it. Our prices are flat-rate and upfront, so you don’t have to worry about inflating prices as the job goes on. We are the plumbing, gas, drain and sewer experts because that's all we do! We charge a minimum $59 dispatch fee for regular hour residential customers. Please see the pricing section of our Thumbtack profile for holidays, landlord/tenant and commercial services.

We are the experts the handymen call when they get in over their heads.
  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We welcome the opportunity to work with new customers. Our customer service representatives are trained to assess your plumbing needs and assign a service professional suited to meet those needs. We generally schedule our appointments for 2-hour windows and will contact you before your service professional arrives letting you know they are on their way. When our service professional arrives, they will wipe their shoes on their own door mat, will wear shoe covers when entering your home and follow all CoVid19 compliant protocols. Your service professional will help educate you about your plumbing and provide you options to resolve your issue. They will then provide you the cost for each option so that you know the expense before any work begins. Generally, the technician is prepared to perform the work immediately unless specialty parts must be ordered or it is a large multiple day project. In this case an alternate appointment time would be scheduled that meets your needs. If you'd like to get a second opinion or think about the proposed work, all estimates are good for 30 days and the the $59 dispatch fee will still be applied as a credit.
  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Training is a big part of our company. We understand that a well-trained team provides a better customer experience. As such, we have developed a versatile training program that we follow to help improve our team’s skills. Our plumbers are licensed, which means our experience is backed by high levels of training and continuing education. When you call us, you can be confident knowing you are getting service from plumbers who know how to handle your problem effectively, with the least amount of time and money.
  • How did you get started doing this type of work?
Tony and Heidi Perez have owned and operated Mr. Rooter Plumbing of the Twin Cities since January 2018. Tony holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering and worked for several years in the nuclear power industry. Heidi holds a Bachelor of Science degree in medical technology and continues to serve in the medical field as a medical technologist. Tony and Heidi purchased the Mr. Rooter franchise with the vision to be an employer of choice and make it the most trusted plumbing service provider in Central Minnesota by always doing the right thing, the right way, all the time. Their philosophy is to provide their employees with a wholesome environment where they can develop and thrive. They understand the value of training their team and strive to provide their customers with high-quality experiences with the goal that every customer will become a customer for life.
  • What types of customers have you worked with?
Our experts serve residential and commercial customers who are faced with a wide variety of problems including emergency repairs, annual maintenance and general plumbing services. Our service professionals are highly trained and capable of work on repair, replacement, remodeling, renovation and restoration projects.
  • Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
We complete several projects a week and the scopes range from clearing an obstructed drain to replacing a fixture to remodeling a bathroom to replacing an underground sewer pipe. The majority of our projects are completed within one or two days but some of our larger projects will go longer. Most of our projects are completed as planned. Occasionally however, a project will not go as planned and these are the occasions that can set one company apart from another. We have found that the best way to work through these situations is to be honest with our customers, keep them informed about what has happened, and what will be done to get the project back on track.
  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
What sets Mr. Rooter Plumbing apart is the thoroughness of our estimate appointments. We employ state-of-the-art diagnosis techniques and old-fashioned know-how to give you a complete picture of your plumbing system. We give you an honest assessment, then let you know exactly what we can do and how much it will cost. If you're considering working with a handyman, who do they call if the project is beyond their scope of expertise? We are the plumbing, drain and sewer experts because it's all we do. A large portion of our emergency calls come from customers that tried to perform work on their own or hired an unqualified friend or handyman that caused more damage than a fix. Be cautious of those that provide low-ball quotes online or over the phone just to get in the door to significantly raise the price when it's time to provide the bill. We are plumbing professionals, we do not guess. We know every home is unique and plumbing can be complex. We perform all work according to the current plumbing code requirements. This is why we require an on site visit to provide an accurate assessment and quote for the work to be performed. Our goal is to provide the a service that meets your needs, at the quoted price with no surprises for our customer when it's time to provide the invoice. If you are looking for underground sewer or water line repair or replacement, be sure to contact us for a complimentary 2nd opinion, before signing on the dotted line for a costly replacement by another company. We offer state of the art "no-dig" options that other local companies do not.
  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Do they offer guaranteed up-front pricing? Are they a licensed and insured plumber? Do they warranty their workmanship and supplied materials?
