About Us
  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We offer very detailed pricing so that you as the customer understand what it is you are paying for. We do offer Military Service discounts with proof of service. Standard Service fees are $50.
  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Estimating the actual cost of a service call can be a tricky task if not experienced. At Durant Electric LLC we specialize in these services and are often able to pinpoint exactly what is needed by a simple evaluation and asking our customers a few questions. If we happen to see anything that is an area of concern or just simply an item that we often come across, we will discuss that with our customers without any pushy sales tactics. We are not in the business of sales. We are in the business of keeping you and your home or business safe!
  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
At Durant Electric LLC you can be assured that never hire unlicensed professionals. You may have a Journeyman, or you may have our company owner/unlimited contractor and a helper if the job requires. We run License checks on all of our employees to ensure that they are up to date, and we are in compliance with all rules and regulations set forth by the state. Additionally, We run Background checks and drug testing on all employees so rest assured that your home or business is in good trustworthy hands.
  • How did you get started doing this type of work?
Originally going to college to pursue a degree in Criminal Justice. Mike (Owner/Durant Electric) decided to follow in the footsteps of his father and great grandfather by pursuing a career as an electrician. Originally Starting in 2008 and working in every aspect of the trade from residential service calls to industrial shutdowns, Mike found his expertise in residential and commercial. From working for a small company that is now one of the largest in the area for nearly 10 years to working with a couple of the largest companies in the country he gained experience every step of the way in business model structure, various estimating types, and electrical knowledge.
  • What types of customers have you worked with?
We have worked with all levels of homeowners, from small rural communities to suburban communities with multi-million-dollar homes, Business Owners, General Contractors, & Remodel Contractors.
  • Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
We take pride in all of our projects and the actual timing of every job is different.
  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Experience when it comes to the Electrical Industry is a must. All too often we come across a project in which a customer had a handyman come in or they tried to DIY a project in which has caused issues that wind up costing the customer more money than if a licensed professional would have been hired from the start. We will NEVER tell you how to handle these situations however we will ALWAYS recommend that you hire a licensed Professional, even if that ends up not being us (We hope that isn't the case :-P).
  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
1: Are they licensed? It is HIGHLY recommended to always hire a licensed electrician within the state of Oklahoma. The state of Oklahoma does require anyone performing electrical work to be licensed by the state. Any active electrical contractor will be required to carry liability insurance and a contractor's surety bond, which will protect the customer in the event of them not finishing the project or other problems that may arise. 2: Do they respond in a timely fashion? All too often we hear this complaint. "We called this company (Person) and they haven't shown up and haven't heard from them". As a matter of fact, we have experienced this ourselves when trying to hire other trades. At Durant Electric LLC this is NOT how we conduct business. In the rare event your call is missed for some reason simply leave a brief message and we will ALWAYS get right back with you.
