About Us
  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We have a trip fee of $79 to send a licensed Journeyman electrician to your house to price out electrical work. We believe in accurate, guaranteed upfront pricing. Changing a price once it has been given to a customer is against our policy, therefore we have a licensed Journeyman or Master electrician look at all electrical work before pricing it out. Homeowners should be very cautious about giving merit to pricing given out over the phone or internet - especially when it comes to electrical work.
  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We send an electrician to your house to do three things on every visit: 1) Quote all of your electrical work, 2) Provide you with multiple options for your electrical work 3) Perform the electrical work right away the same day. We arrive in a fully stocked service truck with every part and tool to complete any home electrical repair, which saves you time and money. We don't run for parts and charge you for it. We don't run to Menards and waste your time.
  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Dunwoody Institute, Degree in Electrical Construction and Maintenance. Four year apprenticeship program with the best electricians in the world. Continuing education every two years - required by the state of MN.
  • How did you get started doing this type of work?
Inspired by a special family member.
  • What types of customers have you worked with?
We only work with homeowners. There are great electricians in all fields; commercial, industrial, residential new construction... We stick to what we know - residential service in existing houses for homeowners. Our ideal customer is a homeowner who wants thorough service and cares about the safety of their house and wants the work done properly.
  • Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
It started from a service call we didn't do; the customer called us because their lights were flickering throughout the house. We scheduled a service visit with the homeowner but advised them to call the power company in the meantime. The power company ended up resolving the issue for free. The same customer moved into a new house 6 months later and called us out for service to do a safety check-up and to replace some receptacle outlets. We replaced the outlets and also replaced his electrical panel after our safety inspection uncovered a burning circuit breaker and an overloaded main electric panel. We replaced his electrical panel and upgraded his service form 100 amps to 200 amps; all in one day.
  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Be cautious of bait and switch pricing tactics. Pricing electrical work without seeing it is a risky proposition for everyone involved. Check how long a company has been in business, check the BBB, check for references and make sure they are licensed, bonded and insured.
  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Is the pricing guaranteed in writing before work begins? Does this contractor specialize in existing home electrical service, or do they take any work that comes along, not really specializing in anything... Is the electrician coming out to your house licensed, background checked, insured and drug tested? Have they been in business for more than 5 years? Do they warranty their work? If so, what are their warranties? How many complaints do they have with the BBB?
