About Us
  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Expertise: With over 35 years of experience, we have a deep understanding of the electrical industry and cost factors. Accuracy: Our detailed and thorough approach ensures precise and reliable estimates. Transparency: We believe in clear communication and honest pricing, building trust with every customer. Efficiency: Quick turnaround times for estimates to keep your project on schedule.
  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The typical process for working with a new customer at Midbrod Electric usually follows these steps: Initial Contact and Consultation: The process begins with an initial contact, where the customer reaches out to us via phone, email, or through the company’s website. During this stage, basic information about the customer's needs is gathered. Needs Assessment and Site Visit: After the initial contact, a more detailed needs assessment is conducted. This may include a site visit to evaluate the scope of work, discuss specific requirements, and identify potential challenges or opportunities. Proposal and Estimate: Based on the needs assessment, Midbrod Electric prepares a detailed proposal, including a cost estimate. This proposal outlines the work to be performed, materials to be used, and any other relevant details. Agreement and Scheduling: Once the customer reviews and approves the proposal, a formal agreement is signed. The project is then scheduled, with timelines and milestones clearly communicated to the customer. Project Execution: The work begins as per the agreed-upon schedule. Midbrod Electric’s team of licensed professionals carries out the project with a focus on quality, safety, and efficiency. Customer Communication: Throughout the project, regular updates are provided to the customer to ensure they are informed of the progress. Any changes or adjustments are discussed and agreed upon with the customer. Inspection and Quality Check: Upon completion of the work, a thorough inspection is conducted to ensure that everything meets the required standards and the customer’s expectations. Final Walkthrough and Approval: A final walkthrough with the customer is conducted to review the completed work. Any remaining questions or concerns are addressed, and final approval is obtained from the customer. Invoicing and Payment: After the customer is satisfied with the work, an invoice is issued. Payment terms are in accordance with the agreement.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?
Established in 1989 by Gary Midbrod in Stillwater, Minnesota, Midbrod Electric has grown from a local business into a trusted electrical contractor serving the St. Croix River Valley and beyond. Our founding vision was to deliver high-quality electrical services with a commitment to value, attention to detail, and exceptional customer service. In 1998, I joined the company, marking the beginning of our second generation. Under my leadership, Midbrod Electric has continued to thrive and expand. Today, we hold Contractor and Master Electrician licenses in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, North Dakota, and South Dakota. We are proud to have served our community as a reliable electrical contractor for 35 years.

We provide personalized attention to large-scale commercial, residential, and telecommunications projects, among other services.
  • Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Installed a new 22kW standby Briggs & Stratton generator for a customer who had been experiencing multiple power outages over the years. Two days after we installed his generator power went out in his neighborhood for over 24 hours, but his power remained on and did not lose any of his recently caught Halibut in his freezer.
  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Ensure whomever you hire is licensed and insured with a reputation of quality craftsmanship.
  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
