About Us
  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our pricing is based largely on square or linear feet and comes from our direct experience providing our services. Bundling services is the absolute best bang for the buck. Our 18 Point Service covers for hundreds what would cost thousands if contracted separately. Also, you only have one vendor to call for multiple services. One click, one call does it all!
  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We will discuss your needs and can often lock down pricing on the phone. Depending on the job, we will set up an appointment to look at your project and determine scope of work. We have all of the necessary general liability and workman's comp insurance so we are available to work with everyone from homeowners to Property Managers, Realtors, and commercial enterprises.
  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a journeyman carpenter/handyman with over 35 years in general building, remodeling, and landscaping. Running concurrently, I worked in food and beverage for 30 years. I have helped design and build over 22 restaurants and bars, including my own bar which I operated for over a decade. This intersection of career customer service, operations excellence, and practical hands on know how conspire to deliver the unparalleled value, technical skill and service that HomeSmiles delivers.
  • How did you get started doing this type of work?
HomeSmiles is the creation of CEO Jesshill Love, my oldest friend. He built this concept to solve the constant maintenance issues his real estate holdings presented. He imagined a service that could "do it all" with "one click or one call" and HomeSmiles was born. Jess recognized how my background and skill set was a perfect match for a HomeSmiles franchisee and HomeSmiles Contra Costa became a reality. HomeSmiles Contra Costa continues to expand and deliver new service offerings.
  • What types of customers have you worked with?
HomeSmiles works with Homeowners, Renters, Contractors, City Municipalities, Property Managers, Retirement Communities, Facilities Managers, and Realtors. We service any type of building and can service buildings up to 10 stories. All our techs are lift certified and follow strict safety protocols.
  • Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
We do many homes in Danville/Blackhawk. We prepped a 5500 sq ft house for sale. It took a 4 man team 8 hours to do an 18 point service with the 4000 sq ft extra in pressure washing and realtor "punch list." The client and realtor were amazing and ordered pizza for the crew. The house looked beautiful and the homeowners had 4 offers in less than 10 days.
  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Cheapest isn't always the best. Many "cheap" providers don't have insurance or workman's comp. Make sure your service provider has the necessary insurance or you could be exposed. Service providers that carry the necessary policies generally have a higher hourly labor rate to off set mandatory costs by the State.
  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Try to be specific. Think about all of the things you would like done and see if you can get bundling prices. Ask about what services they offer. You may land on someone who can do everything you need...like HomeSmiles! :)
